Samsung Star 3G is a 3G version of its popular Star phone. These phones – Star , Star 3G and Beat DJ were announced few months ago. We take a look at the Star 3G in this review with a bunch of photos of the phone. The phone uses TouchWiz technology for an intuitive touch experience . The Accelerometer enables the display orientation to rotate automatically .

Display and Built

The phone has a really big 2.8 inch touchscreen display. It might not have stunning looks but it is very thin at a mere 13mm and easily fits into a pocket

The display works fine both indoors and outdoors under the sun. While the 240×320 display seems big, it leaves you craving for a larger screen. There is a Video Calling camera in the front and the earpiece has a metal finish.

Below the display , we have 3 keys – call , joystick and hang up.

On the right we have the camera button and the lock button.

On the left we have the volume rocker keys

Camera

There is a 3.2 MP Camera at the back with LED flash. There is a Photo slidehow app that lets you browse through the captured photos. You can even edit the photos on the phone . Video recording is possible at 15 frames per second. Camera quality is not top notch and is just OK.

Samsung Star 3G Price

The phone is currently available in the market for a price of Rs.14500

Conclusion

The Samsung Star and Star 3G have a lot in common but the plain vanilla Star seems to be a much better buy than the 3G.

yes guys, i purchased GT-S5603 3G version on 11 Sep 09. its really confusing in the begining but so nice in compared to the HTC touch i used earlier.it comes for cheaper price and itook for 11K.the draw back i feel is no stylus provided and the key pad is bit conjested. overall i rate it a good. Well it doenst come with WiFi, and the browser is not so trendy as compared to other Windows phones. U can go for it,it has a video call but ur operator should launch 3G.and u can use it guys. overall nice and cheap.

    Hey Guys,
I purchased Samsung star 3g on 11th October. It cost me 10,700 with a 2 GB Micro in Vadodara, Gujarat.

    The features are stunning.

    Pros:
    Excellent sound quality
Great camera with a great flash.
    Acclerometer is very good.
    Music player with Equalizer
    Photo Editing on Phone.

    Cons:
    Doesn’t have stylus.
The full QWERTY on screen virtual keyboard is not available while writing message when you move phone horizontally. – I miss this feature very much.

Haven’t checked the video quality yet.

    Overall good for 10.5 K !!!!!!!!!!

I have bought this cell a month back for Rs. 11,100 in Ambala.
You do not get any memory card with it, need to buy it separate. Its really sick even by paying so much of money u can’t get one.
It does not have facility to zoom in or out facility while taking snaps or video.
You have to scroll a lot to find out the particular song from ur music list. In Nokia it is easy to do by just typing the letters of the song.
    It does not have wifi.
While taking the picture you need to keep the camera still for 2 second after taking the photo other wise it will come blurred. It’s really sick.
Every time you have to change the setting to make your memory card as the default storage device.
It goes slow if u store more than 1.4 GB of data.
    Battery back up is good.
    Music quality is good.
Its ear phone designs are really shit.
    Its cover also looks cheap.
All the games are demo versions except two. You need to buy them.
