Nokia N97 New Firmware Released and Tested – v11.0.021

Nokia has released a new firmware for the Nokia N97 Version :v11.0.021 UPDATE : Varun got v.11 on his N97 White . The update was around 3.7 MB and took about 5 mins to install on the phone. Here is the screenshot below for the proof. The firmware has been around since 15th June but Official release happenned only 15 days later – today
Here is the changelog which describes the new features and bug fixes, the new firmware will include:
-USB detection error fix
-PC does not detect N97 or USB charging connection not detected.
-Widget
-Home screen online/offline widget crash fix
-Fix for “Alphabetical and Number input are mixed in facebook until end key is pressed.
-Widget UI improvement – New facebook widget fixes a problem of Home Screen background visible on soft-key area.
-Browser fixes to improve widgets stability.
-MfE related fixes
-Partial fix for Messaging/calendar entry lost.
-Mail for exchange calendar entry synchronization error fix.
-UI transition error fixes (Portrait <-> landscape transition, there is a home screen corruption.)
-UI transition (Slowness and bad effects)
-Slow Touch UI response
-Picture of the device lock appears half of the screen when transitioning the UI sometimes
-Landscape: in some cases the soft buttons on touch (right hand) show the Home Screen in background (install maps.google.com)
-Photos thumbnail performance and stability improvements
-Device performance deteriorates when lots of content in the device – especially photos
-Partial fix no display backlight illumination when unlocking lock-key – CAP Genius reported already
-New version of Accueweather to improve the “Connection error” situation
-Device reset when browsing with high speed packet access (for Malaysia)
-“Browser soft key UI doesn’t work after putting Chinese character with qwerty keyboard”
-Java fixes (TCK, Pre-install app disappearing, *#7370#*)
-Operator fixes (CMCC, Hutchson and Telefonica, Vodafone)
-Ovi store client now embedded in the core image

Where is Varun based? In India?
Is it available in India? I do see a Vodafone IN on the phone above.
I checked it in the afternoon, it wasn’t available.
Unforunately, this hasn’t hit a lot of the phone yet. I can’t seem to update the firmware on my phone – OTA or though the software updater.
The update should be released in India shortly. I will be waiting eagerly for the update. Its great that Nokia is releasing the software so quickly – this shows that they are working hard on fixing some of the bugs on the device. Bugs notwithstanding, I am very pleased with the phone. It is amazing!!

I think this update is rolled out based on the product code.Should be rolled out to all users soon.
@Tarun – My phone is made in Finland and bought from UK. So I guess , I got the update. I din change the product code

That looks like good news was waiting for the new firmware does this update deliver what you expected from the new firmware? Do you still think it needs fixing? & dose it fixes all the bugs plz do reply it soon as possible

I got my white N 97 on the first of July from Gurgaon, It is officially available but not easily. I think you need to put in your sweat equity before you have it.
Like it so far. But sometime the phone freezes and the calls don’t even reflect. That’s bad news for clients.
Hope the new firmware has fixes.

I got my n97 in bangalore around 15 days back, I cant update my firmware as it nsu says no updates available or device update over the air says my phone is already up to date……looks like this is the case across india…….friends please post comments and keep us updated if anyone in india is able to update
nokia n97 firmware v11 is released in india today.you can update now with nsu.
