The aging E90 Communicator has just received a firmware update from Nokia after almost Eight months and is now at v. 400.34.93 up from v. 300.34.84 which it received in October 2008. The details of Firmware changes have not yet trickled out but as always one can expect the firmware update to make the device faster, more stable and fix some bugs.
The Maps and Flash has been updated but Maps 3.0 is still not supported neither is Ovi support integrated into the device. Since the E90 does not support UDP(User Data Preservation), you need to take a backup of the device and the update it and restore it to get your data back.
Those of you have updated your E90, do share with us here if you find any other changes, as a V300 to V400 firmware update should have some significant changes

v400
-Faster rendering on the web browser
-Flash 3.0
-Maps v2.0wk39 b04 open GL LM MN (upgrade from b03, even though it is a different week that may be lower)
That is all I have been able to come up with.
I have “heard” the following:
-better stability on calls
-better stability on wifi
still needs HTML integrated on the email client
still needs an update on the bluetooth stac to prevent the droping of connections
still needs integrated ovi
still needs maps 3.0 (actually in the last phase of beta, so it should be soon)
@ceroberts75,
thanks for sharing
There are a large number of E90 users out there . Hope they find this info useful
Hello everyone,
I’ve updated mine. few initial attempts failed. Ps update nokia PC suite to latest.
After having latest PC suite , my device upgraded to 400.34.93.
Internet in too faster, haven’t noticed anything else yet.
Firmware version 400.34.93
Good:
- faster GPS connection
- Faster connection with internet
Bad:
- NO bluetooth anymore….
Strange I had exacly the same probem, the bluetooth stopped working. After I googled it its seems lots of other users had the same problem.
Wonder if they will send out a update to correct the problem?
