Location based services is one among the most trending services in the field of Indian telecommunications. Reportedly, TATA launched its Location based services (LBS) using A-GPS (Assisted Global Positioning System) for the first time in the country, using which, unlike any other LBS service, you can access your current position, using the nearest base station of your current operator.

So, as compared to the traditional GPS systems, A-GPS works quickly  as it uses the location of nearest base station (also called towers) to locate your position and does not try to connect with the satellites to get your position on a map.

This service is presently launched only for TATA’s Blackberry and MotoRazr V3C customers only.
