Well BSNL Launched 3G Services in Chennai yesterday.
Now BSNL has announced the 3G Tariffs and plans .
The good news is that it will be available both on Prepaid and PostPaid.
You have to purchase a new 3G SIM card for Rs.300 and the website says that migration from 2G to 3G would not be possible.
We are not sure if it means just getting a new SIM card or getting a new number as well. Its most likely that it would be just the SIM.
Just in case if your wondering what kinds of speeds are possible on 3G

Migration from 2G Post Paid to 3G Post Paid can be done with a charge of Rs110.(Excluding Service tax). The amount can be charged in the bill.
Activation of Video Calling facility to 2G customers is to be done immediately on their migration to 3G.

For change 2G sim into 3g sim, You haven’t purchase a new 3G SIM card for Rs.300 If you having 32k sim card. It is possible to use 32k sim card with 3G service. If you dont have 32k sim then go to BSNL CSC and apply for 3G sim.
Yes, You Can Connect it with your PC the procedure depends upon your Phone.

Yes u can also use internet on ur cell. For brief detail see ur phone manual. Or ur phone pc suite.

nokia n73,79,95,96,97 etc supports 3G.But you should look for 3G with HSDPA.Because 3G provides download speed of 384Kbps.But 3G with HSDPA supports 3.6Mbps.Nokia N95,5800,96,97,79,85 etc supports 3G with HSDPA.
I don’t like to use N series, any other model support 3G
i want to know that in 3g service what charge is payable for use this service like me who is student.
i want to say that if u beleive in some low cost 3g service then u get more student bcoz there more student than any other people who use the mobile and if then get 3g service in low price than u also get many subscriber and u also get more profit than any oter company
if u want to use only data service. just reacharg ur bsnl cell with 230(include service tax). On ur 32k sim card and use unlimited downloading with nice speed in rajasthan . without taking any 3G service use 3G service
