This to good friends!
pls help me with the reviews of 5800 those who have bought it ,
i want to buy it
5800 is a good phone .. but not perfect ..
you should understand that its a first version of nokia’s full touchscreen device and bugs are present.
Im using one and the music is great
i have parchased 5800 before two months but in this two months i have sent it 3 times to nokia service center because of so many problems.↲
Hangs so much. Speaker become out within 2 months. Whenever i use net on it hangs. Music player hangs so much. Stereo sound of out side speaker is not good as n73 & n82. Even 6233 is better than 5800 for music. The only good thing is large display in this mobile.
I have bought Nokia5800 the 2nd day it came into da market…
Its a damn sexy piece….Its 5 months i bought it n am feelin very gud…
Its video n audio quality are execllent….
I handle it very roughly tho its going very well..
Da only thing is dat U should know how to handle a touch screen den only it ll be too GUD to use….
Hello everyone.
Apart from cnet that this is a site that i had reffered to this site too before i bought my now 3days old NOKIA 5800.
Initially a nokia user, and last 3yrs being using Sony Ericsson 850i.
So am new to this genre of smart phone, kindly look at the review as a simple user.
Let me put down few lines of what i like
1. The menu layout.
2.Contact Menu
Its quite well made, when you call a contact and say his mobile isn’t reachable so you wanna call his land line , when you press
contact, voila the persons contact sheet is still there for you to see.Meaning no need to browse through again.
3.Speaking of browsing through, it has smart filtering such as
i) You can look for contacts via groups , this saves time.
ii)If you are going to browse the whole list, for the start the whole alphabets fill the half the screen. Then, as you type the first letter, the keypad gets filtered and only the next possible(i.,e software refers to ur contact) alphabets remain. I liked this a lot.
Input method for texting:
T9, mini QWERTY with stick, Full QWERTY with hand on landscape mode. All these are here, am new to smartphone, so am feeling a little annoyed with full qwerty’s lack of space to use my fingers.
Sure ladies would find it a breeze. Whats really annoying apart fro the slightly cramped full qwerty is lack of error correction by software.
What let me down:
Camera:
Abysmal. I couldn’t believe am having a 3.2 mega pixel cam, earlier 850i was excellent. I was shocked to see the pathetic grainy recording that nokia5800 popped up(Grainy in home fluorescent light conditions).
However when i adjusted ISO level, film mode, aperture settings the STILL PICT became better. But this what one does with an SLR isn’t it.Mobile usually we use to take pictures on the go. So here it has miserably failed.
A friend of mine said that once i view it on computer it would be better, I haven’t seen it yet.
Accelerometer:
Seems like the current version on the devices, has a bug with reference to this. It works fine mostly, some times requires you to restart the phone. After reading through some discussions on nokia website by other users, am content nokia will rectify this fault.
Result:
Its a good phone, i phone is more than double the cost, plus you can’t remove the battery of i phone. Call quality is vgood on this nokia device.
Hi everyone i have not taken nokia 5800 so i dont know so much about the phone but i had listen from other people that the phone is great and i have nokia n73 and tomorrow i am changing my phone and going to take nokia 5800 so i hope it will been good for me
