Google G1 now available to Android developers in India

The T-Mobile G1 would be available for purchase to Android Developers in India but branded as the Android Dev Phone 1but carries the same specs as the G1
Android Developers in 18 countries including India can now purchase the Google Android Phone
Its both Network and Hardware unlocked and is mainly made available to android developers world over.
You don’t have to be on T-Mobile or inside USA to get this phone ..
Anyhow we managed to get the unlocked G1 to work on Airtel earlier
It would be available in for purchase in 18 countries including India, the US, UK, Germany, Japan, Canada, France, Taiwan, Spain, Australia, Singapore, Switzerland, Netherlands, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Poland, and Hungary.
The price of the phone would be $399 and a registration at the Android Market as a developer would cost $25
There is a limit of 1 device per developer account, for now.
This phone is meant for use only for Development and not for Consumers .
regarding the price .. we heard that the shipping charges and import duty would bring the price of the phone to $649
Rs.30000 for a Dev Phone ?? Normal users stay away and wait please !!

I just ordered a android dev phone 1 online, to chennai. excited to touch the G1.. but i ll miss my 2g iPhone…. Can you guys tell me about the battery life of the G1

Did you really order the phone ?
Well battery life of the G1 is just as good as iphone 2g
remember to run off wifi,gps and data when not needed ..
there is an App called AnyCut which lets u create shortcuts to most settings

yeah, i ordered the phone.. the shipping charge was insane.. it was around $224 (only for shipping) .. yesterday they reduced the shipping by around $75-$80..
may be i ll post pics in my blog once i get it..

Hey .. where did u order the phone from ?? I am in Pune … Anyplace where u can get in India.. I looked at rediff and indiatimes.. but somehow dont find it trustworthy.
@Anirudha – The phone is not officially sold by retailers in India. You can order the dev phone directly from US after registering as a developer on Google.
