SE Xperia X1 launched in India!!!
India is fast becoming the launch pad for hi-end mobile phones. Sony Ericsson launched the Xperia X1 in India a good two weeks before the US launch. WOW!
At Fonearena, we have been tracking the Xperia since Feb 2008 and covered the handset extensively. Read the coverage here.
While the specs and features of the Xperia are on Fonearena and can be viewed here, we take another look at what is touted to be SE’s most flamboyant handset.
The X1 has killer looks and an arc-slider design, with fully functional nine customisable panels, a 3-inch clear wide VGA display, a full QWERTY keyboard, 4-way key and optical joystick navigation and a 3.2 megapixel auto focus camera within a quality metal-finish body. Phew!
It is SE’s first Windows Mobile handset and has the highest data transfer rate (HSDPA/HSUPA) and WiFi support.
“The Xperia X1 is the first product under Sony Ericsson’s new premium sub-brand Xperia. Designed to meet consumers’ needs for a converged entertainment and mobile web communication experience, the Xperia X1 is an exceptionally stylish handset, enhanced by the striking arc-slider design, encased in real stainless steel, to provide quality and durability. It is supported by a powerful panel multimedia ecosystem” said Sudhin Mathur, General Manager, Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications.
He further added, “The XperiaX1 can be personalised through its nine panel user interface to suit the user’s moods and lifestyle. Users can access content quickly and directly through the touch screen, easily switching between applications by touching one of the unique customizable panels. The arc design gives a distinct and unique feel. With Windows Mobile, the highest data transfer rate (HSDPA/HSUPA) and Wi-Fi support, you can enjoy your favourite entertainment and work efficiently on the move. Xperia is our promise to think foremost of user experience and to deliver the premium experience – anytime, anywhere, anything, with anyone.”
Price:
Sounds steep at an MRP of Rs. 44,500. But the handset will find takers amongst discerning buyers. If only the GOI gears up its act and gets our country on the fast track too!!!

year 2009 is sony ericsson-the result we can see in the bull’s eye of the mobile giant.the reason why experience generation x1 or the mutant generation first or advanced first generation mobile or x peria x1 can be adoptible for htc mobile in almost all abounts?well ,purely because htc has got the cooperative hands behind manufacturing the x1.yes its true sony ericsson together with another mobile giant htc has completed the x1 to cast a spell among its lovers and floaters.but clever sony ericsson never shows off its full hands to htc even before releasing it-sweeping aside htc’s helpful hands sony ericsson mark its brand stamps on all respects-style,version,security,connectivity,capture,and last but not the least communication at par excellence.if i were a judge to give marks on contemporary mobiles i will give x1, 1000 out a 100.sounds freak ah! trust me the ambassador of a brand never runs out a haste.thanks sony ericsson
FIRST please read account in stead of abount in the above statement of mine.i beg ur pardon for that.however,in addition to my aforesaid comments on the x1 , i think sony ericsson will be carpet bombing the 2009 by introducing several walkman, junior, radio, power house, kamera n cybershot mid range and low range sets with high end operations and softwares included(that means low cost but high quality).thats all for now
