The HTC G1 or the first Google Android phone has already sold 1 .5 million units (pre-orders)
Its priced at $179 in America and comes with a 2 year contract.
Reports suggest that HTC is in talks with Indian operators to bring the Google Phone to India for as little as Rs.8200 but reports also suggest that the handset could be priced as high as Rs.20000
Anyhow thats much cheaper than the Apple iPhone price which is Rs.30000 approx.
So all your users who felt disappointed or fooled by the iphone pricing .. are u listening ?

Read our comparison of the iPhone and Google Android G1 Phone and the G1 Launch and pictures
Airtel has a relationship with HTC for handsets and Airtel India might offer this phone aka HTC G1 or HTC Dream .
Airtel might also consider adding a new data plan for the G1 like the iphone plan.
Till the rumors are confirmed , just be hoping that the competition between apple , nokia and htc might result in a price cut .

Squadax
This is premature information nothings confirmed ..
It might be locked to the Operator like Airtel / Vodafone . The contract would be similar to the iPhone model
Price will be around 8200 with 1/2 year contract I think
Well 8200 is too good to be true…..It has to be 20k dear.
But the reports we got mentioned the price as Rs.8200
may be with an EMI .. no one knows anything yet
But atleast we are happy its coming to India
These companies sell their products at desired prices in India…
In US its costing $179 only for the same but in india it will be somewhere around 20 K…
This phone will go to the same way of iPhone… No one will buy it because of its too high price…
We should bycott these products as these companies consider us as fools… then they’ll come to know the improtance of Indian markets in world…
did the phone launch ?? whats the price and is there a contract ???
Well if it makes you feel any better, The HTC hero has still not hit the australian market….HTC magic has ofcourse hit the market….But I want a HERO !!!
