We all know that recently mobile prices have come down to an extent that a common man can also easily afford it. Even an auto wala and vegetable vendor keeps a mobile phone and this actually is good because according to me technology should benefit people from all strata of the society.

According to Live Mint, Labor minister Oscar Fernandes, has asked government and privately owned communications companies to give mobile phones to farmers for Rs 500. He has taken this decision, in order to enable farmers, to gain access to Internet through their mobile handsets, so that they can dictate prices for their produce to end consumers. The minister also wants that along with growing Internet technologies farmers should come to know about the latest trends for sowing seeds, harvesting crops, deciding on how to pour fertilizers and in what quantities. This will definitely improve India’s farm production.
I must say that, this is very thoughtful of Mr. Fernandes, cause in country like India, middlemen eat a major chunk of farmer’s money and this move will certainly help farmers in getting what they deserve boosting their production and profits, both. What say guys???
