Samsung Max to CDMA rescue

Choosing a CDMA operator for low call costs is fine. But if you are seriously unhappy about the handsets you are restricted to choose from, Samsung launched Samsung Max, the first open market CDMA handset in India.

“The availability of CDMA phones in the open market will provide Indian consumers freedom to choose network operator’s of their choice,” said Hyundai Kim, Vice President and Head - CDMA Division, Samsung Telecommunications India.

So you can not only choose to upgrade to the Samsung Max, availability of the handset in the open market will empower you to choose the operator too!

The Max is a slider multimedia phone that includes customised “Indian” features such as an Indian Calendar, a ‘panchang’, mobile prayer, a Cricket scorer and Hinglish SMS.

The handset has been launched in Delhi and Mumbai and will be available across cities by December 2007 and will be available to subscribers of Reliance Mobile and Tata Indicom.

  3. Hi does this phone support setting mp3 files as ring tones which are stored in the memory card,

    the previous handset samsung explorer did not support setting mp3 as ringtones, we would only download the mp3 files from tata zone and set it as ringtone

    so is it possible to set mp3 files as ringtones in this phone.

  4. even i am looking out for this same function…u can upgrade the Samsung Explore model…from any of the Samsung Service Stations…
    though the volume from those MP3 files will be low..(but normal inbuilt tones’ volume remains the same)….
    but even i want to know about same problem …whether or not I can set MP3 files as ringtones or not…. ??

    I got this handset in last week I found its really very different and very good features as panchang,alram, dial system so many…
    but Remember the FM reception is poor while on move after Santacruze.
