Apple releases iOS 10.0.2 update to fix iPhone 7 Lightning headphones bug

Apple has released iOS 10.0.2 update for the devices running on iOS 10. This fixes issue for iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus users that makes them not able to control volume on their device few minutes after the lightning headphones are plugged into the port. Earlier this week the company had promised a fix for the bug.

The iOS 10.0.2 update that rolled out few hours back is already available for iPhone 5 and later, iPad 4th generation and later, iPod touch 6th generation and later. The size of the update might vary depending on the device.

The changelog of the update is also different for some iOS devices since it includes fixes for issue that prevented enabling some app extensions in some devices.

  • Addresses an issue that could prevent headphone audio controls from temporarily not working
  • Resolves an issue that caused Photos to quit for some users when turning on iCloud Photo Library
