Apple has acquired another machine learning start-up dubbed as Tuplejump. The Hyderabad startup helps companies to store, process and visualize big data with its unique software.

Tuplejump was founded in 2013 by two co-founders Rohit Rai and Satyaprakash Buddhavarapu, who have already joined Apple. The terms of acquisition were not disclosed. Apple confirmed the acquisition to TechCrunch by sharing this usual statement, “Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.”

The report further said Apple bought Tuplejump for its “FiloDB” open source project that is designed to use machine learning concepts and analytics on massive amounts of data in real-time. FiloDB will continue on as an open source project.

Apple has acquired a number of AI and machine learning startups in recent times. Last month, Apple scooped Turi for around $200M and bought Emotient in January. In October last year, the company scooped up speech recognition start-up VocallQ to improve Siri and even bought Perceptio that focuses on developing technology that allows companies to run artificial intelligence systems on smartphones. Tech giants like Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Amazon are increasingly focused on computer learning and artificial intelligence.
