Xiaomi announced two versions of the Mi Pad 2 – one running on Android while the other runs on Windows 10. Both the devices are powered by Intel’s Atom X5-Z8500 processor. We went hands on with the Windows variant and have compiled this hands on for you.

The Mi Pad 2 is powered by a powerful Quad-Core Intel Atom X5-Z8500 processor that is clocked in 2.24GHz and has Intel HD graphics as well for good GPU performance. There is 2GB of RAM and 64GB of on-board storage. The Windows 10 variant comes only in the 64GB variant since it requires more space for the OS. The device runs full fledged Windows 10 just like you would get on a laptop or desktop PC.

The IPS display size is 7.9 inches and has a resolution of 2047×1536 pixels resulting in a pixel density of around 326 ppi. It comes with a separate tablet mode or you can choose to run it on a similar UI to regular Windows 10 as well.

The right side houses the power key and the volume rocker button while the USB Type-C port is at the bottom. The device has a USB Type-C port for connectivity as well as Dual-Band WiFi 802.11 ac and Bluetooth 4.1.

There is a primary 8 Megapixel camera with f2.0 aperture and 1080p video recording capabilities at the back. Up front, you have a 5 Megapixel camera as well.

There is a non-removable 6190mAh battery under the hood and it comes in both Dark Grey and Gold Colours. The device has a metallic finish and a unibody design that feels good to hold and handle. There is no SIM card slot since this is a WiFi only variant.
