Wave appears nice package at a competitive price. Though how “Bada” works remains to be seen.
On other side, I feel Galaxy S is priced at a higher side. If rumours are to be believed than HTC Desire would also be released in July at sub-30k mark which obviously have advantage of HTC Sense UI. Perhaps, Legend is also available at sub 25k which compromises on RAM/Processor & HD recording but other than that it is great deal & extremely high on user satisfaction.

So would it be available at the dealer right now itself? When is the date the dealers will be having it?

  • karthik

Launch price are always high. When companies launch phones, they slightly overprice it in order to cash in on the initial interest among customers. When the initial interest subsides, prices come down simultaneously. By how much they overprice the phones, depends on the company and on the model they are lauching.

  • karthik

i agree with you,and also i heard somewhere that galaxy s will not get a 2.2 android update, even if it does, that is where it stops because Samsung really doesn’t care about it’s customers, the after sale aspect of a product is simply missing. No proper customer service nor software updates of any kind ,and a price over 30k….i don’t know i am really skeptical
    about this one
(I always admit that Samsung makes great hardware though)

  • apaul

amen….just see the Omnia HD, samsungs left it without an update to Symbian^3, it has perfect hardware but thats how samsung rolls….

  • Praveen

any company will always charge a premium at the launch of the phone.. i guess the price will come down to 26-27 within 3 mnths.. but the screen is to die for! and im not tht keen about the froyo update.. ive read somewhere that the nexus one had actually become a bit sluggish after the froyo update..

the deciding factor i feel is which has the better display.. the galaxy s or the iphone 4.. hardware wise both are equally good.. though the interface of the iphone is better the android OS is not too far behind..

  • sanya

well…the cell phones are really good…but the only prob is that they are far too costly…

    i mean anyone can afford…say 20000-30000….but, man, 1,91,00 is a BIG deal…..

    so…i would prefer galaxy s to wave……

    !!

  • Manu

@ Sanya : Firstly, not everyone can afford 20,000-30,000 for a mobile phone.

Secondly, it is 19,100 (Nineteen thousand one hundred only) not 1,19,00……as misread by you, I believe !

  • Angad Singh

galaxy s beats wave hands down as it can do everthing wave….. can its bigger n has android…..

  • Angad Singh

Galaxy S better THAN X10 n Cheaper to….. sony erricsson sucks but less than nokia

  • karthik

For more bang for the buck seems like wave is better to own.

  • karthik

and since wave runs on samsungs own bada OS there is a greater chance that it will updated with future versions of Bada if there are any, whereas galaxy has slim chance of getting an update to android 2.2 based on views expressed by many here :-)

  • Angad Singh

bada didnt much impress any1 and samsung has confirmed that galaxy s will get 2.2…. as galaxy s is the the best phone samsung made it will surely get all the updates….

  • prafull

where to buy samsung galaxy s

  • ronn

samsung galaxy S is truly an awesome phone, a smart phone of course. one of the best in the market.

  • Divya

19k is the launch price of Samsung Wave – does anyone know how much is it really selling for in the market?

Any users of the phone? I read a very detailed review of the phone, and I’m very tempted to make it my first smartphone.

  • http://www.fonearena.com Varun Krish

    It’s available for around Rs.18000

  • Angad Singh

i know its a great price for a first smartphone… but Y not HTC legend its one of the best in the indian market and in direct competition with the iphone… just check its review… specially the part where its says its made of aluminium and it has android 2.1…… u will love this 1…. i guess its priced around 23K…

also htc smart which is under 10,000 or

    last but not the least,
if u r willing to wait samsung galaxy BEAM with an in built projector and i guess it has a 800MHz Cpu
i personally not a fan of touch Wiz UI in samsung so thats y wont recomend Wave but thats a personal opinion…. PLUS its better than nokia’s any phone and Sony Ericsson’s X10….
    :)

I just got my Samsung Wave last week and man I can easily say its the best phone that I have ever owned. Had a Nokia x6 but gave it away for the wave. Its got super amoled screen which gives really rich colors, need to see it to believe it … and a 1 ghz processor make operating the phone silky smooth. The graphics on the wave are really kick a$$.. U should see the Need for speed Shift running on this phone. For a price of 17-18 k it makes it even more attractive

  • anushua

thnx , was in a dilemma abt wch one to opt for , and now am going to get the WAVE.

  • Mannuel

    Hi friends

I am not truly a fan of any company but i would say that samsung has made a comeback,From dirt.I have seen that samsung is such waste company because they never provide good customer care and also no software update at all if they even provided something like ultra touch it will have many bugs that you may throw your phone away.I have seen so many one comapring this phones with other company truly speeking samsung does not stand chance against any other company. In mater of fact i will advise nokia n900 the thing is that nokia provides extended warranty upon paying some price well thats good.Lets see how samsung comes over it

  • Tirth

I m not a big fan of samsung because i use to own star 3G and nothing much to say but the phone sucks its laggy and choppy doesnt work properly. and samsung never cares for there old phones they never gives updates no matter in what category the phone. They just want to make maximum number of phones.

  • S_moonmoon
