Uber has announced that it is rolling out ‘Scheduled Rides’ feature that lets you request cars up to 30 days in advance.
Users can schedule car from 30 minutes up to 30 days in advance. However, the feature is only applicable for uberX rides. Uber will send you reminders, one 24 hours and another 30 minutes ahead of your scheduled ride.
How it works:
- Select uberX and tap “Schedule a Ride.”
- Set your pickup date, time, location, and destination.
- Confirm the details of your upcoming trip and tap “Schedule uberX.” You can cancel at anytime before your ride is on the way.
- We’ll send you reminders both 24 hours and 30 minutes in advance of your pickup. You’ll be notified after your ride is on the way, as well as whether surge pricing applies.
At present, the feature is only available in Seattle in the US, but will eventually be available in other “top business travel cities.” It is not clear when the feature will come to India.
