Furthermore, BlackBerry has addressed issues with the general system performance to make it more responsive and more reliable. The software update enhances stability by bringing number of adjustments to improve device reliability and reduce instances of crashing and freezing.

Finally, the release includes December’s security patches that will protect the device from the latest Android security threats. If you have purchased your Priv directly from BlackBerry through ShopBlackBerry, you can update today, but in case of a purchase from a carrier, you will have to wait until December 7. You can check for software updates by going to Settings > About > System Updates > Check for Updates and choose to apply the update. The latest update will require 475MB of free space. BlackBerry has not yet given any information about when it will roll out the Android Marshmallow update for Priv Android Slider.

In addition to the first software update for Priv Android, BlackBerry has announced that many of its pre-installed apps including Blackberry Keyboard, Blackberry Hub, Blackberry Camera and DTEK by BlackBerry will be updated via Play Store on December 14.
