Ringo launched local and STD calling in India offering users to call any landline or mobile in the country at a flat rate of 19 p/min in partnership with their service providers. Ringo has announced that it has paused its domestic calling service in the country temporarily since local operators may have blocked the service without any notice. Ringo said that the service is a fully legal, compliant service, and follows all aspects of the DoT and TRAI regulations.

Ringo also said that it will take relevant remedial action, but it doesn’t have any ETA when the service will return. Even though it is pausing domestic calling roll out until it resolves the issue, international calls will continue to work as it is without any issues, said the company.

“We will be seeking clarity from our service providers on this tomorrow since it is the middle of the night here right now,” said Ringo. It it finds that it will take longer than 2 to 3 days to resolve, it will immediately refund any unutilized amounts people have paid.
