    Hi,
I tried 3G DATA Recharge through bsnl site for my 3G SIM, but it says you are not eligible for this recharge. I can do a simple voice recharge through this site. but y not 3G data, What is the fun in providing such links in site which are not useful. Right now i have to pay 1paisa/100KB for using 3G services, which is quite expensive.

Can someone please suggest y is that so or do i have to do some registration with BSNL for getting eligibility to do 3G data recharge.

Hi all. Here is a great news. You don’t have to go to Bsnl or do online recharge. U can recharge it from Bsnl recharge centers.
Two days back I called my local Bsnl office n they told me this. So if you want 500mb pack it’s listed as 249. But when u recharge you hve to do for the amount after tax. I don’t know exactly how much it is.
I did for 10gb through out day n night. That’s 999 before tax. So after tax it’s rs1102. I just walked to normal recharge place n did tht. Now iam enjoying 3g. I’m typing this from my phone via same 3g.
Please note ur local dealers won’t agree. But just tell them to do it. An u won’t lose money as these denominations does not exist for normal recharges. So go ahead n enjoy 3g. You can thank me later ;-)

    Hey guys,

I had bought the BSNL 3G sim in chennai the very day it was launched and was very excited about it , but unfortunately my supposed 3 G phone nokia 6233 was not able to detect the 3 G signal. so it was lying dormant for a long time although i had a validity of 6 months.

Then i got two new 3 G phone’s nokia 5230 and nokia 2730 classic. my validity had expired by that time so had checked the options to recharge.

So i recharged for Rs 280 , which gave me one year validity and Rs 40 Talktime.

Then i did a Rs 325 Recharge which has given me 1 GB Data until my warranty is there. This is a great offer for me considering that i do not want to pay internet rental of 250 or 500 for a flat 2 GB usage every month.

    FYI.

2730 classic , the cheapest 3 G phone by nokia gives 0.37 MBPS Speed .(Its max is 384 KPBS)

Nokia 5230 gives anywhere between 1 to 1,5 MPBS (Max is 3.6 MPBS)

So what say “Jai BSNL” ( May be we will have better deals from other players by Novevember , but till them enjoy BSNL 3 G)

I have Nokia 6233 and it works fine with 3G. Just change the network mode to “UMTS”.

  • Baburaj

I’ve been using this option since its launch and it is working fine. But there are hiccups with 3G configuration. I was using gprssouth.cellone.in as APN and one fine day it stopped working. Then I downloaded fresh settings from cellone portal that set BSNLNET as APN. It was working until yesterday. Today its also gone, I am unable to connect to 3G from Trivandrum since yesterday night. Has BSNL changed it again? Any clues? Is anyone able to connect using 3G? I’ve Nokia E51 & iPhone 3G.

  • Divya

I followed this article and recharged my prepaid data card.
    its good. thank you…

I use datacard and i am working with APN as BSNLNET. its working fine.

Guys, I am not sure if anyone of u have faced this problem while data top up of your 3G sim, i have been running places all over jalandhar to get data recharge voucher for 10 GB, but no one knows a word about it…..if you know someone who can help me get this data recharge for 10GB, please advise me— Its very very urgent- m paying hell lot of money……

    • csnarayanan

I availed the 3G data service at Chennai and faced problems when I had to go to Mumbai for 3 months assignment and after trying in vail for recharge at Mumbai, where MTNL (Dolphin-Trump) is the 3G service provider and BSNL not involved and I had to seek the help of SDE at Chennai for recharge from chennai, which SDE/chennai arranged fr w/o immediate payment, which I paid out to SDE after recharge. In fact, this online recharge is best option, but the only hitch is it will have to be done when u have data in balance and necessity to forego min one days validity or U would have to take the help of BSNL from where U registered for the 3G service.

These online BSNL 3G Data Recharge Vouchers are no longer available on the BSNL site.
BSNL please enable them again as soon as possible because sometimes people have to cover long distances to reach BSNL offices.
