HTC Butterfly 3 water resistant phone with Snapdragon 810, 3GB RAM announced

HTC today announced a variant of the HTV31 waterproof smartphone as Butterfly 3, as expected. As we already know, it has a 5.2-inch Quad HD display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 810 SoC, has a 20-megapixel rear camera, secondary rear camera for depth information and a 13-megapixel front-facing camera. It also has IPX7 ratings for dust and water resistance.

  • 4G LTE, WiFi 802.11 a/ac/b/g/n (2.4 and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, MHL 3.0, NFC, and GPS with GLONASS

The HTC Butterfly 3 comes in white, carmine (red) and midnight blue colors,  is priced at NT$ 19,900 (US$ 600 / Rs. 39,740 approx.) and will go on sale in Taiwan starting from October 20th. The company did not reveal any details about the global roll out yet.

Update: HTC’s global online communications manager Jeff Gordon has confirmed that the Butterfly 3 will not be available outside Taiwan.]
