Nokia 5800 gets firmware update to v50 – changelog + video

glad to know about the firmware. Was the video shot during an earthquake ?? Just kidding…it was too shaky. You are a tad late FA, I updated it 1.5 days ago. According to Symbian-Freak.com

i have upgraded it to v50 but there r lots of thing missing from what described above.
First of all there is no quick office integration
there is no rihanna link
there is no one touch dialling
no lifecasting
etc

And one more thingy
No Quick Office pre-Installed,

NO Rihanna service launcher,

Gimlet Touch 2.2 (What is this)

Enable Side lock Keylock Key functionality during Swipe UI (Calendar/Clock alarm) (What is this)

Cherry v2.1 (What is this)

Workaround for Niagara (SMD) display module for DFS52.50 based products (What is this)

well after reading the fonearena post i updated my 5800 and i saw there are number of said features missing such as :Lifecasting (with Maps 3.0T SR3.0)
Flash Video Phase-3 – Flashlite 3.1.7.x
Gimlet Touch 2.2,Quick Office v4.2,Cherry v2.1,
Rihanna service launcher,workaround for Niagara (SMD) display module for DFS52.50 based products….so seems like nokia has just made it more of a cosmetic change rather than more of an utility!!nokia,more of this from you and ull start disconnecting people…

nokia 5800 ‘s latest v50 is really awsome..autofullscreen internet,kinetic scrolling on menus and internet,ovisync,improved music player,its really great,thanks to nokia and fonearena for notifying me..

I also can’t find out some features mentioned like quickoffice 4.2 ,gimmlet touch,lifecasting,etc…what is cherry??

I found maps 3.03 on ovi store

i just updated my phone through OTA. Its good to have kinetic scrolling in main menu and the music player is also good. And i also noticed some speed improvement in accessing menus.

One thing i just noticed. Now u can hide ur music player by the hide option. In the previous version there was no hide option and u had to hide the music player by using menu button or show open apps option.

Me also with no Quick office, no life casting, no rihana etc. If I change the product code will I get the above mentioned features?

I got problem with this firmware. The music player won’t refresh. There’s no Quickoffice and Rihanna Svc Launcher.

it seems 5800 users gets whatever they want
first it was kinetic scroll then we have a new music player as in n97(& tons of other stuff)
Next we should ask for a firmware with Symbian^3 & multitouch
btw whats Cherry v2.1 included in the changelog??

The other way is by hacking which is usually not recommended

bullshit of nokia!! just fooled us around, they have given the old quickoffice 4.o.357 something !! not the premier quickoffice7

also i cant view the office 2007 .docx file in this QO v4, n one cant even create any new document.

ovi was also not updated , i had to update the latest version again..i don’t understand what is the new thing that they have provided , just kinetic scrolling , thats not sufficient

i found the reason, why nokia is loosing to iphone !!
its quite simple
the updates provided by nokia are not sufficient enough to fill the belly of its customers , whereas apple keeps its consumers craving for new updates and product and free softwares!
also apple is way ahead in providing updates , whereas nokia gives just one or two updates in an year, that useless ones,
and after an year or so , they bring down the price and the product is out of production , i dont think everybody is rich that they can afford to change their handsets every now and then , nokia should learn from apple how to keep its customer base intact and increase them

keep in mind nokia if u want to be in top …in mobile world u should provide……update…regularly……its make u happy as well as us….keep in mind…..

In all profile, change the level. Level 2 is min, so I changed to level 2 in profile. Its temp but working solution…

couldnt find Office even after restarting a number of times:(

v50 is not yet available the Type: RM-428 North American version of the 5800 XpressMusic.

v31.2.101 is my currently installed firmware. v40.xx diabled my on- screen keypad and main screen access to contacts, requiring a device exchange. The new device arrived with v21.xx on it. The update to v31.2.101 went smoothly. I am hoping for the same when v50 is made available for my type.

after updating to v50 my 5800 consumes more battery and becomes hot when browsing.

1. Whts ur loctn..as sm chgs r loctn specific across the globe?
2. Did u get the v50 thr’ NSU or thr’ the nokia care center?
3. How stable is v50?

1 the battery is getting hot and draing faster.

Hi, I have updated my nokia 5800 but i am not able to use nokia music store as it is saying invalid server.
Secondly i am not having quick office neither i got it with the firmware.
Thirdly Internet access through opera has been slown down.

Can u please help me in providing solutions for the same.
