Meerkat’s update will support live streaming from GoPro’s Hero 3 and Hero 4 cameras. Initially, the feature will be available via Meerkat’s iOS app. Users will be able to connect the GoPro camera to the iOS app and start streaming. GoPro4 camera owners can use the Meerkat app on their Apple iPhones to live-stream. The company says Android support is also in the works.

Meerkat first announced the plan to work with GoPro at VidCon, a conference for people who make video online, according to CNBC. Earlier this month, Meerkat introduced a feature called ‘Cameo’, which lets any viewer take control of a live stream. The latest partnership which is the first of its kind will be important for Meerkat to get some user engagement.
