“Series” Gets Chucked. Windows Phone 7 is the New Name
Irrespective of whether people liked the new Windows Phone 7 Series or not, almost everyone hated the name. Well, for starters it is a very long name hence, kinda tedious to keep saying the name.
Finally, Microsoft listened to all the criticisms and in a tweet from the official Windows Phone account, Microsoft announced that it has dropped “Series” from the name and renamed it only “Windows Phone 7” only.
However this is just a name change and will have no significance either on the technical side or the strategic side of Windows Phone 7.
