BitTorrent Shoot cross-platform media transfer app released for Android, iOS and Windows Phone

BitTorrent Shoot

BitTorrent, Inc. has launched Shoot app for Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows Phone. This lets you share photos or videos between Android, iOS or Windows Phone devices nearby. It is based on BitTorrent Sync technology and lets you move media directly between people without going through the cloud, so you can share large files without any problem, says the company.

To share a photo or a video, you need to open the Shoot app, tap ‘Send’, select photos and video and send the selected items. It will generate a QR code, which needs to be scanned by people you want to share by tapping ‘Receive’ on their phone. Check out the demo video.

You can send 3 files for free, after which you will have to pay a one-time charge of $1.99, but it’s free for the receiver. This competes with ShareIt, FotoSwipe and others.
