Asus ZenFone 4, 5 and 6 receive Android Lollipop 5.0 update in India

After several delays due to certification issues, The Asus ZenFone 4,5 and 6 started receiving the update to Android Lollipop 5.0 and now Android 5.0 Lollipop is now available for users in India as well.

Up until last week, only the LTE variant of the ZenFone 5 received the update to Lollipop. The update is available is now available for models Asus ZenFone 4 (A400CG and A400CXG), ZenFone 5 (A500CG and A501CG) and ZenFone 6 (A600CG and A601CG).

The update is available through the company’s Support Helpdesk and will require users to factory reset their devices. So if you plan to update, do keep in mind to take a backup of your device before you update it.

The update to lollipop brings about a lot of changes in terms of UI and performance improvements. It also removes some of the pre-installed apps such as battery widget, PhotoFrame widget, Movie Studio, Cloud Print and Magic Smoke wallpapers.
