Is Nokia or HTC or Samsung dead that I will go for this one, while many players are running too high to let it compete with those. Fie Fie.. Or are we Indian a waste user who gonna use the wastage of the apple when US or other countries gonna witness 4G.

Bharti Airtel on Wednesday said it would start selling Apple’s iPhone 3GS from March 26.

Priced at Rs. 35,500 for 16GB memory card and Rs. 41,500 for 32GB card, the new iPhone comes with longer battery life, three-megapixel autofocus camera and hands-free voice control system. However, Airtel will continue to sell iPhone 3G with 8GB card at Rs. 29,500.

Customers of iPhone 3GS will get 500 MB of free data every month for a year.

“We are delighted with the opportunity to bring the eagerly-awaited iPhone 3GS to India. Combining the strength of the Airtel brand and network with the great user interface of iPhone 3GS, we are happy to bring to our customers an experience that will take mobile communications to a whole new level,” Bharti Airtel President (Mobile Services) Atul Bindal said in a statement.

now Apple shouldn’t complain that iPhone sales r low infact very low in India..whats the point in selling 1 year old phone in India at such a horrendous price..when 4generation model is just a couple of months away…
Apple must know that people here also have access to internet,Search engine Google is present in India and that’s keep u informed about the latest offerings in mobile market..

The data plan is a just a formality. If u call there customer care about this they wont even know about this offer.
I wasted 36500 buying Iphone 3g 16GB from them so its better get it from US or UK.

Guys I understand the third world treatment by Apple as well as the Cellfone companies outhere in india, I think till the companies like airtel n vodafone don’t take a stand things are going to be pretty much the same… But as far as the 3gs is concerned guys I swear by it, this is the most technologically advanced gadget I have witnessed so far… Been using it for 6 months now & it has made my life so much easier… You will never touch any other phone after u have used an iPhone!!! N the launch of 4g is a well spread rumour, apple ain’t launching it until next year… What they are actually launching is an os 4, which is upgrade from the current 3.1.3 which will take the 3gs to new heights with Multi tasking et al !!!

Confirmed news… apple launching os4 n not iPhone 4g… I think I ll buy the 3gs black, n for those who don’t know, there are browsers available on app store for free which allow you to download any file from the internet, example VanillaSurf, MyMedia etc… My friends have iPhones, was using an htc till now, but looking at the apps n games available on iPhone m switching to the 3gs!!! N yeah it’s pretty damn fast!

I am in Singapore and the iPhone 3GS 32GB costs around 1138 SGD = INR 37K approx, so I dont think its a raw deal in India. However I feel wasting 37K on a phone isnt a good idea after all, will settle for the Nokia 5530 that retails around 8K odd INR in Singapore.
