Which phone platform are you going to switch to ?

on March 13, 2010 – 3:11 pm9 Comments

Most often we cellphone users are not satisfied with whatever we have . We are all greedy for something more and that’s the harsh truth !  Gone are the days where phone makers can hide stuff about the phone performance and flaws. The bare truth about a phone or a platform is pretty much public knowledge these days . So here’s your chance to bitch about your current phone and how it sucks, or if you’re going to be married to it for life, how did you fall in love with it .

How about voting for the mobile platform you have your eyes on now ?

Your time starts now !

    WinMo7 go go go,

Currently I am using Symbian S60V5 Nokia 5800. I am satisfied by Nokia but not the Symbiam OS. As on every third or fourth week I have to reset my phone for one or many reasons.

Android – Not now but hopefully in 2011 (lot of development is to be done)

BlackBerry – Nope I am not a casual businessman/employee. They are trying to project that college student are adopting BB but not at all true. I am a active student and visit 2 or 3 colleges every mont due to the events. And don;t remember anybody taking a BB.

Meamo – Same as android, lot is to be done on phone features, not only the pc feature. one small example it still can’t send DTMF on it own (without widget or app). Currrently it is of of a mini lappy than a phone.

Iphone – Not true smartphone (they have themself proved while launching in Korea. I know the Jailbreaking but everyone is not so techy and keen to do this

In Nutshell WinMo7 is all in one.

I prefer Android in my next mobile.

Presently i’ve Sony ericsson P1i which runs on trouble-free n lovely OS, Symbian UIQ3.0. Unfortunately UIQ is dead due to improper management by Sony n Moto. Otherwise this OS is superior in its performance- no hanging, no crashing of applications and it handles multiple applications so well! Hmmm. . . I use more than 15applications at a time but doesn’t have problems like ‘low memory n close few applications’. It’s really awesome OS n I love it forever.
Note: i’ve been using UIQ based phone for last 3years n still using it.

If symbian 3 comes out with C6 , I will go for that else wait for MeeGo. I don’t see me moving away from Nokia. Any other options are still so costly with very less value for money where Nokia scores highly.

Well Nokia need to keep pace with the competition but one thing most people forget is Nokia is sticking to its vision of ‘connecting people’ which is very commendable. I feel Nokia burned the house by sticking with Symbian alone and Maemo was a good comeback. And before even Maemo can settle in our minds it became MeeGo. Eagerly awaiting the 2010 lineup from Nokia

Iam not a businesman, just an Engineering student. Currently using Nokia E63, but wants to upgrade to Nokia E55. But Bad Luck, its not available in India. I’ll wait for Win7, if i can’t i’ll go for Corby plus…
