Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Hands On

Submitted by Team FoneArena on February 26, 2010 – 1:27 am3 Comments

Here is a treat for all you Sony Ericsson fans -- an exclusive Hands On of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 running on the Google Android platform. It’s the first Android phone from SE and it’s a pretty good effort !

We are sure most of you have been eagerly waiting for this phone ever since it was announced last year. After having played with it during MWC 2010 , the 4 inch display is gorgeous and the Timescape feature is interesting. The 1GHZ Snapdragon CPU means that its pretty fast .

The 8.1 Megapixel Camera with LED flash does take some good pictures .  Timescape lets you access Social networks such as Twitter and Facebook and you can track updates from all your friends.

There’s MediaScape for organizing your media such as photos , music and videos and there is even Face recognition for photos.

On the connectivity front , it’s got Wi-Fi, Bluetooth , A-GPS , HSDPA and a microUSB connector. Memory is expandable via a microSD slot and not some proprietary junk.

Finally Sony has managed to cram in a 3.5 mm audio jack.

Talking about battery life , we were told that it gives about 1.5 days of runtime and excessive use means it will last a day

The phone runs on Android 1.6 and there is no information if there will be an upgrade to 2.0

Hope Sony Ericsson launches the X10 at an affordable price in India. We expect it to be around Rs.35,000 -- 40,000
