Thousands of Phones4U handsets go up for auction

Looking for a new phone or maybe just a great deal? A few weeks ago we exclusively reported that Phones4u’s accessory stocks had gone up for auction after the company went into administration last September and now the company’s handset and tablet stock is up for auction with the same auctioneer.

Bidding is now live at John Pye Auction on over 2000 lots of handsets, tablets, consoles and accessories. The handset lots include the Apple iPhone 5 and iPhone 5C and the Xperia Z range whilst the tablet lots include the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and the Galaxy Note 10.1. There’s also Beats Headphones, PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii-U consoles and a whole lot more.

All lots are “Sold as seen” which means they cannot be returned or exchanged and will not be eligible for warranty claims with the manufacturer or with the auctioneer. It’s also worth noting that each auction comes with a 3-minute rule – which means each new bid adds 3 minutes to the auction end time – and you’ll have to pay 20 percent VAT plus 20 percent buyers fee on top of the winning bid.

The auction house doesn’t deliver items so you’ll also need to collect the lots yourself from the auctioneer or arrange for a collection by a courier (someone like DHL, DPD or ParcelForce). When placing your bid remember it’s a binding contract but as long as you’re savvy about it, you might be able to grab a bargain!
