“The transition to 4G will be quick. Next year, we are going to be very aggressive in the 4G value proposition for end users.”

said Motorola President and CEO Rick Osterloh to ET.

According to the IDC report, Motorola is fifth largest smartphone maker with a 5% share in India while globally it is the third largest after the Lenovo acquisition. Motorola faces tough competition in India due to Xiaomi which launches budget devices that are suitable for Indian markets. However, the Chinese smartphone maker has been banned from importing and selling devices owing to a patent infringement related to Ericsson.

Motorola has already been a success in India with Moto X and Moto G  (First and Second generation) lets hope it has another budget device that will cater to India’s rising demands next year.
