Apple releases iOS 8.1.2 with bug fixes and iTunes ringtone issues

Apple has released iOS 8.1.2 as an over-the-air software update for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users running iOS 8. The latest update brings bug fixes and a fix for an issue where ringtones purchased through the iTunes Store were removed.

The latest update restores the purchases made for ringtones and users who have lost their ringtones can simply head to itunes.com/restore-tones and follow the instructions. Apple had last updated iOS 8.1.1 in November with bug fixes and improvements for iPad 2 and iPhone 4. Prior to that iOS 8.1 added Apple Pay, Camera Roll and other features.

The update is available for all devices running iOS 8, including the iPhone 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, and 6 Plus; all iPads except the first-generation model; and the fifth-generation iPod Touch. You can access the new firmware over the air via Settings > General > Software Update, or via iTunes by connecting your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch to a computer.
