Sony announced the Smartwatch 3 SWR50 in September this year. The company’s first smartwatch that runs on Android Wear landed on the U.S. Google Play Store last month for $249.99. It has a 1.6-inch (320 x 320 pixels) TFT LCD capacitive touch screen display and is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor. The smartwatch offers notification for messages, calls and more when connected to the smartphone over Bluetooth.

The Sony Smartwatch 3 has 512MB RAM and 4GB internal storage. The built-in microphone in the smartwatch lets you give voice commands via Google Now about news, sports, weather, directions and so on.

The smartwatch has sensors like Accelerometer, Compass, Gyro and GPS and can be used for collecting fitness data. It uses Lifelog app to set and achieve goals, bookmark memorable moments, and revisit memories any time. At the bottom we can see the micro USB port for charging which is covered with a flap. The SmartWatch3 is waterproof with IP68 ratings and is compatible with all Android smartphones running Android 4.3 or later.

The Smartwatch 3 has a mix of rubber and steel belt. The straps of the watch are made of rubber while the locking part is made of steel that is seen in regular watches. It comes in Classic Black and Sport Lime colors and extra straps are also available in Pink and White.

The Sony Smartwatch 3 has a power/lock button on the right side. Connectivity options on the smartwatch are WiFi: 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC.
