Facebook Messenger crossed 500 million user mark last week. Today, the app for Windows Phone has received a major update with bunch of new features.
The version 9.0.0.0 of the Facebook Messenger app now adds the ability to message people who are not in your Facebook friends list. You will simply need to tap “People” tab in the app and all your phone contacts will get synced. In addition, the update allows users to use it for texting by simply entering the number of the recipient.
Doodle and text support that was already present on Android and iPhone is now coming to Windows Phone as well. Finally, the app gets few improvements and bug fixes that makes the app faster.
