PCMark benchmark released for Android

PCMark for Android

Futuremark has released PCMark benchmarking tool for Android. It has Work benchmark that lets you measure both performance and battery life. It also shows you how your device’s CPU clock frequency, CPU average usage, temperature and battery charge level changed while the benchmark was running.  The app is 23 MB, and the Work benchmark is a 400 MB download, installed when you first run the app. More benchmarks will be added over time, says the company.

Features of PCMark for Android

  • Measures the performance of the whole device, not its isolated components.
  • Tests are based on everyday activities, not abstract algorithms.
  • Scores reflect real-world performance, not unachievable maximums.
  • Tests use real applications and native APIs whenever possible.
  • See every test in action, instead of watching progress bars.
  • Guide tells you what is being measured and how scores are calculated.
  • Protected by rules for manufacturers.
