3G Auctions Further Delayed?

on January 29, 2010 – 7:13 pm4 Comments

It seems like we will have to wait a little while longer to experience the power of 3G technology in many parts of the country.

According to The Hindu, Veerappa Moily, A Member of the Empowered Group of Ministers (EGoM), has expresses his views that the auction should he held when there is an availability of spectrum which is going to happen only during mid 2010 and hence the auction might be postponed till the next fiscal.

Also according to various sources, some of the leading Indian telecom firms are supposedly pushing the auction for 3G spectrum to next financial year keeping the global slowdown and increased competition in mind but were tight lipped on the names of the companies.

Sigh! When the world has already started enjoying the power of 4G, we in many parts of India haven’t experienced even 3G as yet :(

Our ministers just delaying it it on purpose cause they want more and more people to go for BSNL and MTNL 3G connection. They are well aware of the fact that the moment a private player launches 3G,everyone’s going to rush for it leaving the govt run agencies in a lurch.

I agree both Kunal and Aman. I not satisfied this gov. And its policy. Why delay 3g and MNP.

Again a very sad news.First it was MNP and now it 3G. Everytime 3G is getting postponed for some or the other reason from the last 4 years. Im doubtful if 3G would actually be launched here in the next two years..
