Havnt used blackberry myself but heard frm lot of ppl over net that this phone do hv issues many celebs complained on twitter abt their bb failing or crashing . I personally use iPhone 3gs which I bought in march nd it hasn’t crashed or behaved badly not even once . I searched before buyng fr bb nd iPhone nd I opted fr iPhone fr it’s most stable hardware nd software . Rim plz improve I wanna own one but not with this kind of peformance

i just got my bold 9700 and i cant compose text messages,each time i go to compose sms,it takes me to the initial message i sent..and if at all i want to send another message to a different contact entirely i have to delete all messages……..wat do i do??

I purchased a BlackBerry Bold 9700 from Mumbai in March 2010. The handset had hardware issues so had to return and seek for replacement within 2 weeks of purchase. The store was kind enough to consider my replacement request although Redington India refused. HAVE TO MENTION THAT REDINGTON INDIA PROVIDES NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT. THEY RATHER PIN A DEFECTIVE HANDSET ON THE CUSTOMER’S USAGE DESPITE A HARDWARE FAULT. However, the second handset also showed similar problems. When I checked with the store the product is of the same batch of production/manufacture. Hence I understand it is a manufacturing defect.

Nevertheless….I loved the handset for its utility. I have never come across such an awesome handset BUT THE MANUFACTURING DEFECT HAS TO BE CORRECTED. Believe me… I am hunting for another 9700 from other stores which is not of the same batch of production. Hoping to find a non-defective piece.

I am using Bold 9000 since Dec 2009. The phone has crashed twice !! Once within a week of my purchase. The other after 2 months of purchase. Lucky I had taken a backup (though one month old). Else, I would have lost all data!!! I didn’t expect this from a Blackberry!! Not to mention the shabby treatment I was meted out at the service center here (Chennai, India). After-sales service is a major factor (atleast in India). Nokia is just too good here in that department (though, frankly, they need not be as their products are very rugged).
