Xiaomi Mi 4 now available in 64GB variant in China

Xiaomi Mi 4-3

Those of you who often find yourselves cramped due to low storage are in for respite, as Xiaomi’s latest flagship — the Mi 4 — just went on to be available in a 64GB variant.

Until now, the device was available only in its 16GB version. That is perhaps not enough for a lot of users these days that tend to indulge in multimedia and gaming, especially when you consider that quite a portion is taken up by the operating system itself.

What makes a 64GB variant on a phone like Mi 4 is its non-expandable nature; like a lot of other Xiaomi phones, the Mi 4 too doesn’t offer the ability to expand storage via microSD. This was often the case with flagships in 2013, but has changed for good this year.

What’s noteworthy is the fact that the device still doesn’t offer 4G LTE connectivity, like the 16GB version which we played with earlier. The device is also slated for an Indian release later this year. Xiaomi only launched the 16GB Mi 3 here, so it will be interesting to see if India gets the Mi 4 in both storage variants.
