Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone gets voice messages, emoticons and more


Facebook Messenger for Windows Phone has been updated with bunch of features that brings it in line to its Android and iPhone app. The latest update 6.0 adds the ability for users to record voice messages that the was apparently the most requested features, according to Facebook.

Similar to the feature on WhatsApp, Messenger users in Windows Phone will need to tap and hold a red dot to record a message and the share it instantly.In addition, users can now send emoticons from the dedicated navigation bar to spruce up your conversations. Facebook Messenger has been receiving constant updates on the Windows platform. In June the app added easy photo sharing and Group Tabs while last month it got video sharing option. However, the Window app still does not get voice calling that is available on Android and iPhone

Facebook announced recently that users to download the standalone Messenger as it will soon kill the messaging feature from its main app. Last week, the social network updated the Messenger with Android Wear support.
