Saavn teams up with Warner Music and EMI, adds 8 lakh English tracks


Saavn is expanding its music catalog by partnering Warner Music and EMI. The latest partnership will add 8 lakh tracks from international artists on the music streaming company that will now boast of about 2 million songs. Saavn now covers music from all major labels in the US, including Sony and Universal.

said Saavn, CEO Rishi Malhotra in a company release.

In addition, the company has announced some leadership changes and introduced Rishi Malhotra as the CEO while Vinodh Bhat will be the President along with additional responsibility like sales, talent acquisition and so on.

Prior to the Warner Music and EMI deal, Saavn had 1.1 million songs from music labels like Saregama, T-series, Yash Raj music, Sony Music, Universal Music and Tips Music among others. The music streaming service competes with Gaana and Hungama. Saavn updated its Android app in May with revamped UI and more.
