when should we expect the MAJOR update…where portrait view will be supported????

  • http://www.fonearena.com Varun Krish

pretty soon . This update can be seen as a prelude to the major update

Portrait mode is supported already, but on a per-app basis.

At least xournal, gpodder and panucci make use of it.

Feels like it’s more a release to give more time before to release fixes for the major things like SIM card support (was supposed to be released in December), but lets hope you are right, so I can use my N900 as a phone soon.

glad the mini update came out. was starting to lose faith in Nokia. I recall a few previews of the N900 prior to its release and the reviewers stating that MMS and portrait mode would be implemented and released by year’s end. these reviews were in November. I hope these plans weren’t abandoned.
