I don’t think it’s a killer, but it’s a big threat. There may be room for both of them in the market.
They say “developer freedom” in the promo. I don’t know what that means, but I assume it means that developers won’t have to go through a crazy application and rejection process to give others access to their apps.

Yes ,the Apple App Store might be a nightmare for developers who actually try to do something which Apple has laid out plans for . Something like Video calling.(Qik,Knocking,Fring compete in this area)
In Android Market on the other hand, things should be relatively easier. But Some developers are complaining about having to tweak their app for a HTC Android phone , Samsung Android phone etc. as makers are trying to customize things a bit
