Sony Xperia Z2a with 5-inch 1080p display, Snapdragon 801 announced in Taiwan

Sony Mobile has announced Xperia Z2a, the international variant of the Xperia ZL2 that was announced in Japan last month. It has a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Triluminos Display powered by X-Reality, powered by 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and runs on Android 4.4 (KitKat).

It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.3-inch Sony Exmor RS image sensor, 4K video recording, similar to the Xperia Z2 and a 3.1-megapixel front-facing camera. It has IP55 / IP58 rating for dust and water resistance. This comes with 16GB of internal storage instead of 32GB on the ZL2 and this supports 4G LTE on 1800MHz, 700MHz and 900MHz bands .

The Sony Xperia Z2a comes in Turquoise, White and Black colors and would go on sale in Taiwan in July. Pricing would be unveiled closer to the launch. Sony has also unveiled the Xperia T3 with 4G LTE support in Taiwan.
