Nokia N97 getting v2.1 firmware update soon ?

on December 27, 2009 – 12:39 am2 Comments

Looks like Nokia is testing the next firmware update for the Nokia N97 which started working fine after the v2.0 update

The news comes from Eldar Murtazin of Mobile Review who even did a full review of the N900 even before the phone was announced at Nokia World

We doubt if the 2.1 update would be a major update . But it might fix some bugs in the v2.0 update like the Photo Gallery for example.

How many of you are on version 2.0 on your N97 ?

Hopefully it comes out soon and clears up the mess that v2.0 brought along. After installing v 2.0 the phone just basically became a paper weight, constant locks ups requiring battery removal, even tried hard reset, reinstalling the update and hoped that would fix the anoying memeory loss and constant lock ups but unfortunatly did not help. I certainly hope that v2.1 fixes the problem of having to reset and take out the memory card for the phone to start up and not get stuck in the NOKIA screen. To anyone that thinks on buying the phone I strongly recommend going for another option, even if it does not have all of the functionality of the N97, since at this stage of development, the N97 is just not functional as a phone.

      Wow!

Your phone must be playing up big time. My N97 is fantastic. Never misses a beat, and operates more smoothly than my wife’s iPhone. Its only flaw is lack of much decent software. I hope this improvs over the next year!
