LG confirms Android KitKat update to G Pro Lite and L9 II


LG is rolling out Android KitKat update to G Pro Lite and Optimus L9 II according to the LG Italy’s Facebook Page. As per the announcement, the L9 II will receive the 4.4.2 KitKat update “in the coming weeks” while the G Pro Lite towards the end of Q2. However, there are reports coming from Slovakia that L9 II has already starting receiving the update.

LG G Pro Lite Dual

LG G Pro Lite Dual was launched in India last last year, but the L9 II did not launch in India. Both the devices run on Android 4.1. Hence, it looks like LG has skipped Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS update for both the smartphones and jumped to the latest Android 4.4.2. In addition, LG is also plans to bring KitKat update to the Optimus G in Q3. The LG G Pro Lite and L9 II will also receive LG’ s custom lock screen KnockCode support.

The latest update will add features like better RAM management, immersive mode for media playback, cloud-print support, UI improvements,smart caller ID by Google, SMS integration in Hangouts, Emoji Keyboard and so on. Both the devices will receive update over-the-air and via LG update tool.

LG also released Android  4.4.2 KitKat update to LG G2 in March this year. The company started releasing all the L Series III devices that runs on KitKat.It will launch its latest flagship phone LG G3 in a few hours that will run on Android 4.4 (KitKat) out of the box.
