Available in the US and Canada, the users can simply go the the Restaurants/Cafe pages on Facebook and search for their favourite restaurant. For anyone outside of these countries, Facebook is providing a tool that will allow page owners to upload a PDF of their menu. Outside users and users who do not use the SinglePlatform will need to create a PDF of the restaurant menu and add them manually to the Page by going into Settings -> Page Info and choosing “Menus”.

Facebook currently offer “Nearby Place” feature globally under its Knowledge graph search which suggest you restaurants nearby your locations. However, most user turn to food and restaurant search engines like Yelp, Zomato and offcourse Google. Hence, the latest move of adding restaurant menu is another step from Facebook to keep its users on the platform thereby increase user engagement.

Yesterday, Facebook added music and TV show recognition feature to its mobile apps that will enable users to identify songs they are listening to. All these recent updates also suggest that Facebook is focusing on offering more personalized content to its over 1.23 billion users.
